sunflower seeds

Sunflower Growers,

Last year I offered seeds from the EKM #65 and EKM #66 to this group.
Evidently, a high percentage of those seeds did well for the majority and
mediocre for others. For those that had a problem with those seeds, please
e-mail me with your specific problems; location, and soil definition- I may
have some answers. This year, I grew a 20' 8" plant that finished second to
Denny Smith's 20' 10 1/4" plant in the "David Seed" competition. I was
fortunate enough to win the diameter contest at 23.2", however that plant
only stood 13' 9". I also finished fifth in the Divinity category- which is
the total amount of three inch diameter flowers on a plant over seven feet
tall-I had 48 and the winner, Leslie Patton, had 68-the most beautiful
sunflower plant I have ever seen!
I have already distributed about 70% of my seed to growers from the David
Sunflower competition. However, I still have seeds left therefore, I will
divide them up between those who request them. E-mail me at iowan@dakota.net
and {after} January 21st , I will divide the seeds evenly among those who
respond and thus mail them out. Now, for those that are President,
Chairperson, or other, of their particular weigh off, I have a limited
quantity of the EKM # 71 98' that grew my 20 '8 and the 20' 10 1/4", #65-
97' the seed of the current record, EKM# 62- the most consistent (71 over
18'). If you are including sunflowers in your weigh-off please e-mail me and
I will send these seeds to use at your discretion.

When e-mailing me please distinguish which type of seed(s) you are
requesting; a) height (EKM # 71, #65) , b) diameter (EKM # 65) c)divinity
(EKMxD 1928).

Fortunate or unfortunate- it's a debatable question, in regards to living in
the sunflower capitol of the world. However, I'm willing to help all growers
grow these wonderful mammoths.

I'm going fishing for a month-so I hope you all have a wonderful holiday
season.
The Buckster
