Adding Clay
For what it's worth, our patch has 2 different soil types in it but the
original soil part is mostly clay and the CEC is only 18.1. This is what
the 1190 was grown in. The 1131 was grown in the mostly imported soil
which has a CEC of 13.5. Don't know if adding just clay to your soil
will raise the CEC much but it might depend on the chemical nature of
the clay which I'm sure is very different in other locations. One might
also ask if it is even necessary at all. Just my 2 cents worth.
