 I've got access to tons of waste apples and the stuff left over after
 making cider.  I hope I
 can attract worms to the area if I spread them around sparingly and work
 them into the soil, but I wonfer if this is a good idea.  So other than
 being a worm magnet do apples have potential organic benefits in the
 quest for the Y2K pumpkin ?

Apple Pumice, dried.
Nitrogen: .02%
Phosphorus: 3%
Potash: .75%
Compost in thin layers.
Earth Worms love it once it is mixed in the soil, Red Wigglers will eat it in 
bulk form.
