NEW GUY
HELLO EVERYONE.
I just joined the list last night and thought I'd introduce myself. My name
is Dewight and I live in Southern Indiana on a 10 acre (soon to be) mini
farm which joins my uncles 30 acres. I have always been fasinated by the
giant pumpkins,but just recently started researching the growing aspects. I
have ordered the book "How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins II" (a
Christmas present to myself) and am anxiously waiting on it to get to my
mailbox. I have ordered some seeds to get me going from P & P Seed
Co.(another X-mas gift to me.)Are these guys a reputable company,anyone else
ordered from them? The seeds I ordered are;Atlantic Giant Pumpkin 800+ lbs.
7 seeds - 1998 WPC Champion Pumpkin 762 3 seeds - and Zehr's World Record
Pumpkin 1061 2 seeds. What do you all think of these paticular seeds? I
would like to get my hands on a few of the new World Record seeds,1131
Checkon. Anyone know if it is possible to obtain these,and how to go about
it? I am sure I will have a ton of questions as I prepare to start my
adventure on growing these beauties,so I will thank everyone for putting up
with me in advance! One other for now,then I'll go away for a day or so. Has
anyone experimented with taking cuttings or clones of giant pumpkins? Seems
like a good way of getting more for your money when you spend 10 bucks for
