Ethan,
There is no set rule when it comes to fertilizer injectors. 25 pound bags
of Peters for instance, have fertilizer ratios and amounts to put in the
concentrate tank. It all depends how much fertilizer is in your soil
initially and how often you apply the fertilizer. And how much of the
fertilizer solution you apply to the patch. I can give you an easy way to set
the ratio, once you have decided the strength you want. Lets say you are
going to apply the diluted fertilizer at one half tablespoon per gallon. If
you have your injector set at 100 to 1, you put 100 times the amount of
fertilizer you want in the concentrate tank. So one half tablespoon times
100= 50 tablespoons of fertilizer in the concentrate tank per gallon of
water.. As the injector sucks out the concentrate that is 100 times too
strong, it dilutes it by 100 times.........a perfect one half tablespoon per
gallon dilute watering solution. when making up concentrate solutions, hot
water is sometimes needed to dissolve the fertilizer.
