Re: bENOMYL VS CAPTAN

You must be careful with your use of benomyl (product name of Benlate in Canada). Fungus are able to develop resistance very quickly to this product. Manufacturer recommends that product not be used more than twice per year. Products by the name of Bravo or Daconil (same active ingredient called chlorothalanal ??spelling) is a better fungicide as this product is difficult for fungus to develop resistance to due to chemical structure of active ingredient.

Subject: bENOMYL VS CAPTAN

I'm still seeking input from list members on benomyl vs captan. I have heard since benomyl is a systemic if used to often it could be detrimental to the plant, and since captan is only available to commercial groweres in Ontario is there a substitute I may use or is captan available in the states at the garden centres.I need some advice please.  andrew
