Re: OSC SEED
Tom,
Welcome to the list. You will find lots of good information here and plenty of free
seeds. Your post is exactly what this list is all about. Sharing good information
and good seed.
Email me your mailing address privately and I will send you some good seed and also
some seed to practice germinating .
You are located in one of the prime Pumpkin growing areas and the locals can give
you some advice pertinent to your area and local conditions.
With the items you have grown, you are half way there to growing a giant pumpkin. It
sounds like you understand good gardening practices. Atlantic Giants are slightly
different as they require a lot of TLC, Water, Nutrients and space. It looks like
you have the water part covered. I might plant my Pumpkins a bit up the hill from
the Creek where they will not be too wet. They will definitely find there way to the
water. You will need to water by hand for a few weeks to get them started and may
need to adjust accordingly.
I would start my seeds inside and then bring them out in cold frames. Research the
Archives for this info and buy Don Langevin's books " Pumpkins I & II " That way you
can start several and choose the ones you want. Plant a few extra as this is the
first time for you. You can cull later.
