With starting over preparing the new pumpkin
patch in such short notice, I may have gotten a lucky break! The
temperatures in the last week have been very warm and we even got some
rain. The snow is gone and very little frost in the ground if any.
This may be my chance to get a jump on things. On thursday I will be
getting some soil samples to send out for testing and take a look at the make up
of the soil. This should give me somewhat of a head start on
things. I don't remember if I told you or not but the area that I am
planting in used to be an amature pumpkin patch for jack-o-lantern pumpkins
about three years ago. For the last two years, up until now, has
been overgrown with tall grasses and weeds. As soon as I get
some test results back, I will let everyone know the results. I have
decided though, that I would like to grow a giant watermelon plant this
year. If anyone has some good giant watermelon seeds along with some
advice for growing them, I would appreciate it. My e-mail address is
below. Thanks.
