Re: Watering Methods
Nope, don't think so! From my experience, the water must be on fully to
have enough pressure to send the water all the way through the hose, or it
will run out as soon as it reaches the first stretch of soaker. My soaker
is hooked to a regular hose (my garden is about 50 ft from the
springhouse)with a real small soluble fertilizer tank at the beginning of
the soaker. I run the soaker along the vines,as opposed to sprinkling over
the whole garden, so the plant gets the nutrition. I also cover the soaker
with the mulch de jour to aid in water retention.(?) (sounds bad doesn't it,
girls!?) I think I really wanted to say prevents loss of water through
evaporation, or something like that, it's been a looong day!
Anyhoo, I have my soaker setup on a timer to come on just before dawn for
one hour. Of course, if the weather has provided ample moisture, I turn off
the timer.
Just my 2 pennies' worth ;-)
