RE: Watering Methods
I used soaker hoses last year in my gardens with pretty good results -
albeit not for grand pumpkins - but that was probably attributable to other
issues in the patch.

Has anyone ever trenched a soaker hose into the pumpkin patch? I wonder
if the tap was opened slightly (slight dribble) if it would do the trick.
