Hi There;
Sounds like you would like to grow pumpkins. The first thing you should do is
get your soil tested. Once you have the test results back you can ammend your
soil accordingly. Check with your local county extention about soil testing.
If you tell them what your growing they will let you know what to add .
Optimum p.h should be somewhere around 6.5 to 6.8 or so for pumpkins.Next
thing to do would be to get some good seed.If your planning on selling
pumpkins for "jack-o-lanterns" or Halloween decoration you would probably
want a disease resistent strain. You might try out Howard Dill.com. He
sells all kinds of pumpkin seeds. It's a Mail order website for pumpkin
seeds, books, etc..Now if you'd like to grow Atlantic Giants ags. The largest
pumpkin strain on the planet. thiers also how to books at his site. Hope this
