Re: Loss of a great man

I had the pleasure to meet Dick Baird at Guelph several
years ago. He was the epitome of a gentleman.
Dick made a comment which I have always remembered,
"99.999% of the people in this world do not give a damn
about Pumpkins".

God speed Dick:

It is a sad day indeed.  He and his family have been very generous to the pumpkin community over the years.  There aren’t many people who can match his generosity and hospitality, as anyone who has been to the OVPGA patch tour can tell you.  He will be greatly missed.

It is with deep regret that I announce that Dick Baird, of Canfield passed away last night. He was a warm, fun-loving, and extremely generous grower of Giants, that will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
