I had the pleasure to meet Dick Baird at Guelph several
years ago. He was the epitome of a gentleman.
Dick made a comment which I have always remembered,
"99.999% of the people in this world do not give a damn
about Pumpkins".

I did not know the man but 99.999% of Pumpkin Growers are great people I'm sure he will be missed. 

Strange coincidence today, I opened my Email and there was a notice that a friend off mine had died.  The very next Email announced the passing of this man and they also were both named Dick.
