The way I understand it, a pumpkin reaches maturity in 120 days, regardless
of the time of year you plant it....I think the time tables referred to on
this list, is mostly due to the fact that most weigh offs occur in October.
Except that you need to take into account late Spring frosts that may affect
your young plants-(cover to protect), & you may miss on some of the most
optimum growing days, (which for my area in No Ca, seem to be late July and
early Aug.) I think you have a very good chance w/ the time table you
suggested, of having a mature good sized fruit in time for your fair in
August. After all 120 days is a 120 days! Or better yet, try a few at
different time intervals, if you have the space and time; & let us know the
