How long do you think you could grow one in a 5 gal container before it
becomes root bound?

Scott,
You won't be helping yourself by starting too early. If your plants
are left in pots for much more than two weeks they will become root bound
and
will not thrive. My plants are typically ready to be set outside 7-10 after
planting indoors.
