I haven't tried that but I know that the roots will be wrapped around
the bottom of a one gallon can in about 7-10 days. I'd guess that by three
weeks is would be too long. If you're really interested in getting them going
early get a cold frame or build a tunnell and heat it for a couple of weeks
good start. I'd just plant the optimal time for your area and then take what
you get at the time of your fair. It will still be impressive.
