I had an interesting conversation with a customer today about this very
situation. To reduce Aphid populations for their customers, especially in
situations where the insects are coming from someone else's property, they
release Convergant Lady Beetles (Hippodamia convergans) which they buy for
$54.00 per gallon. A practice such as this will never eliminate all the
Aphids. But it might reduce the populations to more tolerable levels.
