This is a great question.
But I'd have to say the chances are better than germinating the same seed
after is has turned 18 years old if the trying is outside of the sterile lab
environment.

If someone took a 723 Bobier or an 846 Calai and selfed them, what are the
odds that the seed produced in this manner (F2) would be as good as the
original seed, one in 50 or one in 1000? I know this has been covered
elsewhere but
I have never seen a number relating to the possibility for seed.
