Hi Mike.. I'm well under way down here with a number of small plants
going...(AG's) --- I think this early part of the year may offer us
"Deep South" growers a better chance at a big one.. rather then
fighting the hot summer weather... Desease and fungus problems may be
less of a problem and early season cold protection isn't so bad with a
small plant... pollination is also a lot easier without 90-100 degree
weather.. .
Your right... an Oct weigh-off wouldn't be in the works ---- but a
bigger pumpkin just might... (I'm sure Joe will make an exception for
us...???)

ps.. Barb.. the plants are doing ok with this rough weather Florida is
having... Thankfully they are still small...
