A few of my favorite things.....

I made a gardening tool which is a cross between a rake
and a fork ( I call it a fake). It's great for moving compost.
And an empty "weed and feed" bottle which I use to spray
the liquid fertiliser.
And a huge blackboard that I bought at a sale for $5.
It's great for mapping out the patch.

I guess no one else had any favorite useful items that made their
pumpkin growing more pleasurable last year. Or perhaps the subject line
quoting the Sound of Music made everyone suspect a virus or a sales
pitch, resulting in instant deletion without opening. Or maybe it just
didn't make it to the List. Anyway, if there aren't any comments on it
this time -- DON'T WORRY I won't make any more stupid comments and won't
repost it.

As I think about the coming spring I recall several things that made
growing giant pumpkins even more fun that it otherwise would have been
last year:

1) large-wheeled large-capacity garden cart (MUCH better than a
wheelbarrow)
2) pumpkin tarp (saved my back many times over as I had the only one at
our local weigh-off)
3) my home-made grow light shelves (hundreds less than in Gardeners
Supply Company catalog and worked great)

What were your top 3 favorite tools or gadgets last year and why?

Looking forward to some interesting replies,
