It is still up in the air somewhat , but it looks like Windsor will be
independent next year. Howard had a disagreement with the GPC steering
committee. The Sarnia site did not have their weigh off results turned in on
time last year and it totally screwed up announcing the winner in the GPC.
Howard was helping tabulate results and things didn't get turned in until 11
at night......should have been in the afternoon. Howard wanted Harry Wilemse
(site coordinator @Sarnia) kicked out or Sarnia itself kicked out. The
steering committee had a vote on the matter and they voted to not take any
action against Sarnia or Willemse. I hope the GPC and Howard can work out
their differences. I don't know if the Windsor site and growers have any say
on whether they stay or leave the GPC or if Howard calls all the shots up
there. Time will tell.
