George ,

I think your right about AG being heavy consumers and by adding all those
ingredients your bound to cover some of the bases. There are products on the
market that contain microbes to add to soils and compost piles. I add a product
called Clodbuster which is a humate this is an excellent source of humic acids
and humates feed the soil microbes. GB I was under the impression that you added
lots of compost which should be loaded with microbes. So what would cause there
decline?? I don't know if there is a possibility of over-population . Is its
possible that you are mega humus and nothing around for the acids to etch. Which
brings me back to the Tree. What do they do ...they have roots that reach down
deep in the soil and pull nutrients then grow then drop it back to the ground.
It gets leached down to the deeper roots seems to be a sustainable
system...........This year I wents nuts and went after some of my drainage
problem I scraped the entire patch surface down 18 inches off to one side.
Perhaps lying just out of the reach of your AGs is a zone of all the stuff you
need to revitilize the minerals . .......brock
