I have a 494 JD planter. Use two of the 4 rows so I am planting on 64"
spacing. You can but plates anywhere. Some people buy blank plates and
drill or hog out holes to fit the Howden seed. I have some blank plates
and one set with
backing plates (or filler plates). They are brand new never been
touched. Cost me about $30 bucks for 2 sets. When you get to the end of
your acres you just throw in everything...including some gourd seeds in
the other two rows also...I have found you can not crowd the small gourds
too much...people like the little ones the best. I have tried thining
the mix with dry soiless potting mixes ...but you can work on that idea
youself. Reply direct if you want to talk about the plates.
