Central Tilba

Greg's rotting may be due to "blossom-end-rot" rather than rain.
The concensus seems to be to add calcium. I lost one last year that way and
this season I have given the patch a couple of bags of gypsum as well as a
kilo or so of Calicum Nitrate (at time of fruit growth). I also added some
blood and bone which is high in calcium.
I would suggest you add some Calcium Nitrate now.

Just a quick update from Central Tilba.

A disaster for my friend Greg. After all the rain of the last week or so one
of his pumpkins went rotten and the other had stopped growing and was also
starting to rot so he cut them both. One weighed 90 Kg and the other 162Kg.
Bad luck.

I have one coming along at around 60Kg that i hope will continue growing for
a month or so.
