I've been reading that many individuals prune the tertiary vines
immediately. Assuming the tertiary vine is the new growth from the
secondary vine, I have not pruned them until my leaf count is high
enough to support pumpkins that I have set. However, I now am under
the impression I should trim them immediately-is the correct
procedure? Also, when I do start to prune my tertiary vines, I wait
until they are about 18 inches in length, then I prune and bury this
vine. Should I prune immediately, and not let them grow to 18 inches?
