Mike Turner, you are so full of bull that you must be the primary source of manure in the U.K.

When you were attempting to sell seeds on the list, you were doing so, not for the benefit of a pumpkin society, but because you were getting out of the hobby and wanted to grab some cash "in US $'s only or UK £'s Sterling if you wish".

Let's go to the archives, shall we?

On May 31, 1999, under the title "Lost my patch" you wrote:
..."being too busy to grow Giant Pumpkins in 1997/8 The Pumpkin Patch was not maintained and admittedly got a little out of hand." "I am devastated by our landlords decision but I guess that it is my own fault for not maintaining the Patch in recent years."

On June 6, 1999, under the title "Mombert 567.5 Seed Available" you wrote:
"Due to my forced retirement from growing Giant Pumpkins I have just sold all of my growing equipment"... "But for now I would like to give List Members the opportunity to make offers for the Mombert 567.5 Seed that I have in my collection. I do not want to call it a Seed auction as such but the 567.5 Seed will go to the highest offer that I receive" ...


Sorry, Mike, not one mention of a pumpkin society. You were out for personal gain and the list creamed you for it.

Many people on the list don't like seed auctions. Some people on the list don't even like commercial sales. Most people don't like phony-baloney blowhards yelling that the list is unfair.

Your circumstances were different than they are now. Then, you were not trying to get an organization going. Now you are. Maybe the list members would let you auction your seeds if you'd just stop being such a whining martyr.

GEES, I DON'T BELIEVE IT. HERE I AM STRUGGLING TO GET A GROWERS GROUP 
FINANCED HERE IN THE UK BY OFFERING MY SEEDS TO HELP US GET ESTABLISHED AND I 
WAS BATTERED FOR IT. NOW IT APPEARS OK TO AUCTION SEEDS ON THE MAILING LIST. 
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME I AM SEEING THINGS.
