Re: Oregon Update Replied/3 unproven
To Chris and the list;I just joined the list a couple of days ago,and I am
a secound year person and the first year didn't count. I have a question I'm
hoping you nice peoples can answer .I live in northern Kansas.Last year(99)
I had super soil, and bought some seed out of a place that said 600# to
700#.I bought several and shared them with two other friends(we previously
just planted the 'Atalantic Giant seeds out of Gourneys)I figured if i
wanted bigger I had to buy genetics. What we 3 guys got was a huge plant and
pumpkins that just sort of melted in the summer heat before they weighed
much over 20#.I read the list of pumpkins weighed this year and I asume I
live to far south to grow these giants.I just wanted one around 4 to 500#
for my two little girls. No fairs or weigh offs just growing a giant
together.Iv'e grown em to 200# and figure that is what the seed will do that
was purchased. Ifmy short comings were not due to climate I would be
interested in some good seed and a true chance to make great big smiles on
my 4 and 6 year old girls.Sincerely Kris Hoard,P.S. My thumbs are both very
green.
