  I have had the same problem here is California with the heat.  It is
important when pollinating in the heat, which you must do by hand early in
the morning, so keep the enviroment cool for a few days.  We do this by
putting ice all around the blossom.  One can take a tomatoe cage and put foam
around it so it is like a cooler.  than place ice inside and it should keep
the female cool so that it can "take".  It is also a good idea to keep it
shaded and keep styrofoam underneath.  And if you still want to increase your
chances of a big one, start your growing season early!!!!!!!!!!
