Discussions - Ground Rules

I agree with the below comments also. I have tried to close the list to keep things
to a reasonable order, but I have found that any action I take, I get slammed.

I dont even read the mail anymore, because of the abuse I have received
from people who feel they have the right to say what, how often, as many times as they
want and to who they want.

To control the list is to monitor the list.

Monitoring is the list owners responsibility to review every incoming email message and
approve or disapprove the post for public viewing. This process can be done, but it causes
a delay in the viewing the messages. Plus it is a hell of a lot of work for me.

I gave permission for seed auctions, but I did not know I was going to have a seed auction every day.

Where does this leave us? What should we do? Should I create a new set of ground rules so subscribes
understand what is consider in scope and out of scope? Should I post these ground rules as a footer to each
email as a link?

Does anyone want to support me on creating the ground rules? I know you are all disappointed in what has
happen to the mailing list, so I am asking for your help to bring it back in line to your liking. Lets stop using
our delete buttons and get back to supporting our members.

Don't forget, the internet is growing media with new members coming on every day. Most of these new internet users dont
understand the proper usage of a mailing list.

Marv,
Amen. You have seen many of the heavy hitters go into semi-hiding. Believe
me , there are many out there just watching and deleting E-mails. Ray, Al,
George, Jerry, etc. etc. Why? We used to contribute and help more, but many
of the E-mails are from beginning growers, bickering like in a chat room,
that haven't grown their first 200 pounder. If the list gets back to the way
it was 2 years ago, maybe more will come out of hiding and contribute. We all
have other lives and don't have time to read through all the B.S.......Maybe
some will come out of hiding. My guess is that there are at least 7 or 8
heavy hitters watching and deleting.
