First time I hear (read) that Belgium is
mentioned in this list.......Beside the times I was
greeting the "US of A - pumpkin fanatics", with
a "greetings from Belgium".......
Anyhow, what pumpkinguy is saying about a
possible belgian record of 100.000
pumpkins in one festival or weigh-off,.........I
am not sure about it.....
BUT, there is a small flemish village called
"KASTERLEE", which has the name to be
the Pumpkin-Headquarters of
Europe................! ! !
Just go to their website, and you'll see, even
the colour of it is orange......:-))
On the other hand, I would like to find out
which belgian, or even European weigh-offs
you americans have ever heard of ?? I know there
are some in Germany.
The Kasterlee-festival (last sunday of october)
has this contest called "the biggest pumpkin",
but I haven't been there
yet........
GREETINGS FROM BELGIUM
