Re: Newbie with a question

If you want a big Atlantic Giant go ahead with Vinces seeds he should have
good
offspring of the pumpkins he grew this year except for maybe Hera. Athena I
heard is a real beauty, but as he said really big pumpkins. I have the seeds
from my 320 LB Smith 99 uow Burpee Prizewinner and you are welcome to a
bucket full of seeds if that is what you want ,"Thick" shinny, dark orange
and almost a perfect Cinderella pumpkin. The other seeds are my 280 Smith 99
uow Burpee Prizewinner which are the same in growth and shape etc. These
seeds are the descendants of my 220.5 Smith uow BPW which are the descendants
of my 230 Smith uow BPW which were bought from Home Depot so they are all
selfed or sibed by nature since I had NO idea there were so many fascinating
techniques involved in a hobby/sport that I simply fell into due to the love
of those big orange spheres. There is allot to be said about inbreeding and I
am not sure how they will do for you but you are more than welcome to them
even only as "practice" seeds.
If you are interested I will try to germinate the seeds and see if they pop
if they do then we are on.... Yes I have been growing pumpkin plants in my
living room since the Halloween massacre and it kind of makes me feel more at
peace with the pumpkin sacrifices (Jack o lanterns) that we burnt on "all
hallows eve".
Ough list please don't think I was doing any fancy genetic inbreeding
with my Prizewinners I just couldn't figure out how to eat those "woody"
seeds and so dried them out on a plywood sheet and saved them, and yes my
largest AG to date is my 247 Smith 2000 so I go with that as my largest
pumpkin..
Well take care and let me know..........
