Re: Seed Auctions- have they gotten out of hand


I think it's ok for growers to sell a few of there seeds, for a reasonable price, but if i were to set up an organisation, i don't know how you work it over there, i would make a rule that the grower kept Xseeds and donated the rest to the club for distribution to other members and sales for fundraising.  Auctioning is ok for raising funds for charity, but in other instances i think it could be viewed as profiteering - depending on how much you spend on your pumpkin growing and how much is bid for your seed! 
 
"share and share alike" - one day everyone might want your seed, the next they will want someone elses, so will you!!
