Why ?.........do you think intellegent growers who happen to have a
723Bobier in thier pile actually think its worth 182 dollars? These auctions
help supply funds to the clubs and charities....they don't set the marker for
a seeds value. Ive chatted with a few growers who purchase seeds at auction
and its been explained to me that they enjoy growing the big seed but don't
have the time to spend researching,"speculating", and writing to get them on
thier own. They enjoy helping fund the club that,in turn,funds the hobby that
they love. Some people just don't have the time required to do all the steps
to get a GP and feel they can cut a corner and support a club at the same
time.
Listen....two tickets to watch the Giants destroy the
Vikings=180.00...parking=14.00,4 hot dogs=15.00,beer for two=30-40.00,more if
your a Viking fan today. two pretzels=5.00......a couple
souvineers...50.00....................total=+/- (1) 946.5Geertz seed which
gives you a full season's worth of hopes,excitement,potential...a chance at
"pumpkin immortality" and a few hundred seeds to share. Perhaps a plaque and
a check. Its all relative.......big bucks for an unproven seed I cannot
explain....................G
