Re:seed auctions
I don't see what the fuss is concerning seed auctions. For those of us who
don't have many growers near us, it's a great way to increase your seed
library. It's also a great way for an organization to raise funds for
operating costs, or in this case for charities. Putting bids down is an
individuals choice. If they don't want to spend the $, they don't have to.
Throughout our history, many agricultural products have been bought/sold for
top dollar. I raise arabian horses and sell/buy at auctions all the time.
The prices for some of these critters is definatly getting out of hand. But
to bid is "my" choice.And what about our own contests. I see many of the
prize monies are also increasing for our giant fruit. Does this contribute
to folks paying higher seed prices? Just ranting> Pumpkinpiper
