I beg to differ, you do if you can afford to. Whomever has the money can buy
and do what he wishes.
Good pumpkin seeds are in high demand from novice growers to the very
experienced. While I agree that seed auctions can benefit a club within
reason, $300 per seed is outrageous and a very big gamble for the purchaser.
When prices for seeds at club auctions excludes most grower's budgets, then
something is awry.
There is a very short window of opportunity for seed popularity and price.
After all, the next season will bring a new set of "hot seeds".
Kudos to the growers who continue to share their great seeds and experience
for the asking.

PS...Gary Burke was a novice when he grew his grander.... some 17yr olds CAN
handle a Ferrari.
