Connie, Lauren Vanderschoot's 827 Holland
plant did the same thing. For no apparent
reason his main (and secondaries) were very
fragile.....and broke like celery also.
Loren put several splints (made from PVC
pipe) on the breaks and the plant continued
to grow and be productive.
Hard to say what causes this.....is it growing
too fast ? ......is it genetics ? Who knows ??
O.K. .........here's and overlooked seed.

Local growers did well with this seed last
year. I would not be surprised to see an
850 or 950 pounder comming out of Napa
with this seed in 2001.......gotta love it !!
