Fresh water seaweed

Once every two years the borough at a near by town dredges the seaweed out of
the spring fed pond in their local park, they haul about 15 semi-truck loads
away and dumps it in the woods, i got a small pick up load and used it for
mulch around my plants, fish and all, i was just curios to ask for any input
on using this for compost and would it have the same nutrients or close to
what seaweed has.(since its free for the taking)
