Pumpkins are never out...you should see some of the water storage systems I
have seen here in Ohio.  Most of these growers would be able to grow in
drought conditions.  Maybe not world records, but they could definitely grow
some big ones.  Several even have contingency plans to buy water and have it
trucked in. (Not me, I would never pay to have water trucked in.  I merely
have my own 1000 gallon fire truck.)

Here in Denver we suffered through the worst drought on record last year
- this year doesn't look to be any better and I expect that a ban will be
placed on outdoor watering.  So pumpkins are out - but being obsessed
with orange I am thinking of trying my luck with giant carrots. Anybody
got a line on some giant carrot seeds?
