Hi Everyone,
Yes, I know not pumpkin related but something to keep in mind if your
buying a new computer. A friend of mine saw an ad Sears was running in our
local paper for a top of the line Mac at a bargain basement price. She
really could not afford a computer but needed one for her business. She
went down to Sears checked out the demo and decided to go for it. She
returned home with her new computer in an unopened box, excited she started
to open up the box and low and behold she found an old beat up 286 PC with
a monitor that was just about as old and broken. She turned the box over
and the original packing tape had been cut and replaced with different
tape, obviously a inside warehouse job. She immediately returned to Sears
where the departmental manager proceeded to call loss prevention. Loss
prevention in turn claimed she was trying to rip them off, implied she took
the Mac and replaced it with her old piece of garbage. Sears would not
replace the computer with what she originally had purchased nor would they
credit her charge account. She called Sears Corp. credit dept. and they
said they would hold off charging her account until the problem is
resolved.
The problem is still not resolved, she has contacted her attorney and is
still without a computer! I guess the moral to the story is, always
remember to open the box before you leave.
And remember you can always hit the big "D" key for Delete if this is of no
interest!
