Troy,
I strongly disagree with your idea that you should never overhead water
unless you want to spray fungicide everyday. Don't get me wrong, I think
your very accurate in your statement as it applies to certain geographic
regions but as a generalization no. Out west when your dealing with temps
that run 98F to 106F or higher and 15% to 30% relative humidity, wet leaves
of a plant dry in minutes. The evaporation helps cool the plant. If you
don't shade or overhead mist, sprinkle, new growth will become French
Toast in as little as 20 min. A mature plant will suffer and die within
hours if not overhead sprinkled or misted at these temps. I applied Daconil
once every 10 days until Sept then stepped it up to once every 5 days, no
fungus!
