Fwd: 2 questions

1. I have used the prong devices to measure pH and nutrient levels. The
reading don't tell you whether you need one nutrient or the other and so with
a reading you would not know specifically what to add. I stick the thing in
the ground and if it reads high I feel good. The readings I believe are good
enough for my tomatoes but not good enough for my pumpkins if you get the
drift.

2. I don't do watermellons but I am thinking about it.

1. Has anyone ever used those store bought N-P-K and Ph measuring
devices? I am talking about the ones with the prongs that you put into
the soil. There is a meter that shows you the current levels. Are they
accurate?

2. Anyone growing giant watermelons this year? There is a man named
Henry Pleasant out of Allardt, TN that has developed his own strain. He
is consistently growing 200 pounders with it. Anyone heard of him?

Thanks,

Mike
