   Your ideas have Merit. With those wind bags in D.C., i'm not even sure
sails are needed. The backer of last years Regatta was dairy store Magnate,
Stew Leonard Jr. Last year, N.Y.C. was picked by Stew and his public relations
company. It was figured, and rightly so, that more media would be readily
available in the big apple. NBC, CBS, FOX and CNN covered the event and it was
seen around the world on over 130 television stations. You should have seen
the CNN and NBC crews paddling boats around , chasing the pumpkin
boats....they had a ball. I t hasn't been determined yet, if it is a charity
event, a race for prize money,or whatever. They did mention the possibility of
including celebrities this year. Paul Newman would be a good candidate...he
has raced everything except pumpkins....we'll see. If we had a race including
the President or V.P. , do you suppose the Secret Service would let Doc
Pumpkinstein get too close....hmmmmmm.
