Just a quickie(mmmmm), as I start preparing my beds for Spring (a long long
way off!), I have found a almost endless source of free chicken manure(400
tons plus!)
My question is -do pumpkins like chicken manure? If I went and started
getting the trailer loads now, it would be well rotted by spring.
Curious,
Tony "Mac" Milne.

Mac,
Be careful with the chicken manure. Even if it has been sitting around for
a few months , it is still strong. Don Fleming overdosed his patch a couple
years ago doing the same thing. He put on about 6 inches and had trouble. If
you put on two or 3 inches and till it in , you will probably be O.K. I would
not put as much manure in a 8 foot circle around the young plant. Let the
plant grow into the chicken manure later in the season.
