Good Morning Red, (Brett)
I've had BSPS in my patch. But I doubt it is related to calcium
deficiency. The reason I say this,is that the same plant had round uniform
fruit on it at the same time. Soil amendments and fertilizers were used
uniformly and equally on and around the plant.
I tried the "Super Thrive" solution on a plant 2 years ago. I think it's a
concentrate of Vitamin B. When you smell it it reminds me of the same
supplement added IV solutions in the hospital. My observation on that plant
was ; Lot's of folar growth, huge vines, and very few flowers to pollinate
on this gorgeous plant.
DMSO; no experience. I heard this was a petroleum by product used topically
for arthritis
No experience on IV feeding to the pumpkin vines. But if anyone out there
tries it I think you'll need to do a cut down to insure it is placed inside
a tubule. Also you risk the chance of infection. And the tip of a 18 or 20
gauge needle will easily become obstructed with soft tissue. So then a stint
would be involved to maintain patency. This is out of my scope of practice.
I could assist Marv or John in this procedure. How about a spinal needle?
Ouch!!!!
Sunshine/heat may help breakdown that deep application of manure you have
Brett. Now I thinks that's a tall order to fill , since you live in the PNW
at this moment.
That's my 4 cents worth of input. Shellie
