Found this information in one of my books, (Elkskin)
Atlantic Giant---110-125 days--Huge upright round orange fruits
weighing up to 800 lb., developed by the Dill family of Nova Scotia from
Goderich Giant, Genuine Mammoth Tours seedstock, introduced as a public
variety in 1978 by Howard Dill, this variety is often confused with the PVP
variety "Dill's Atlantic Giant," which was derived by Howard Dill from the
same seed pool but is longer, less tall and generally smaller.
Hungarian Mammoth:--(Cornell Strain)-- 110-120 Days--Oval, generally has gold
skin!, Sometimes gray-blue or striped, decent Quality fine-grained yellow
flesh used for canning or freezing, Meaty seeds for roasting, 100-200 lb
fruits are common, Bob Ford-(anyone know Bob?), of Penn. grew a 451 lb
record--300 & 255 lb fruits were also on the same vine, that's 1,016 lbs From
one seed!
Source History: ( How many companies offering the seed.)---(8 in 1981)--(6 in
1984)--(8 in 1987)--(4 in 1981)--(2 in 1994) -- I happen to have the 2
companies names and addresses that were offering the seed in (1994) if they
are still offering it is the Question?
