Re: Seeds Needed

Check out the Cucurbyte seed swap page. There are loads of seeds for free.
Some come from smaller pumpkins but have fantastic grandparents! I bought 6
bubble envelopes and loads of stamps. Then I began asking each person by
email for some seeds. Some people only send two seeds. Others send up to 25.
There have been lotts of requests, so make sure to check before sending the
envelopes. Also, it costs a bit more and is trouble to get the return postage
for Canada, but with Wayne Kennedy, he said to just put a dollar in the
envelope for the return postage. Nic Welty sends a good assortment and just
asks for 3-5 dollars or so, A. Reynolds says to send whatever you can. But
Barb sent a nice double Eaton cross free, and Zach Lippman may still have some
with the 1061x781, the 781 is a self-pollinated 567.5 mombert, which everybody
seems to like, also in the growers highlight part of the cucurbyte site, is
shellie crammer, she doesnt ask for an envelope or postage but I sent one
anyway so she would not be out the $. And look at Hester's pumpkin in the
grower's profile area, he says the other end was ugly but I just asked him for
seeds the other day and he says he will send a few.
I just started my collection about a month ago and already have 88 seeds to
choose from with nice pedigrees... hope this helps

here is a copy of the seeds available section. You gotta see the picture of
the Nepereny 98, I think it is in the editor's section of the Cucurbyte page.
Welcome to the "hobby/sport" I have not yet grown one but think it is
hilarious and can hardly wait, good stress relief to look at pictures of these
things with their proud growers behind them. angela c.
