Re: Dill Rings -- my definition

Dear Chris,
Dill rings are in-deed a major problem in Atlantic Giant. I am a sculptor
of A.G.'s and as such have carved many 800 and 900 lb. pumpkins. I have seen
dill rings, and I mean extremely significant Dill rings in huge pumpkins of
all sizes. The most serious ring I have seen is on a 900+ lber that had 10"
wall thickness around the stem, yet had a Dill Ring that was only 2"thick.
Need-less to say this is a major obstacle to overcome in sculpting A.G.'s as
well as growing them. The best of luck over coming this problem.
