Southern Cup 2000

Joe Mills has asked me to post his Southern Cup announcement:

SOUTHERN CUP 2000
Southern Pumpkin Growers Association

It's time to remind all you southern growers out there that the Southern Cup
is waiting to have YOUR name on it! After John Robinette buried the entire
East coast competition last year with his record shattering 823 lb. pumpkin,
the SPGA is confident that there are no limitations for growers in the
South. Rules are simple: any grower entering an official competition
GPC/WPC, who grows south of the Mason Dixon Line, east of the Mississippi,
or who grows in Texas, Louisiana, or Washington, D.C., will automatically be
entered. Weighing outside of an official event should be photographically
documented with a state official witnessing in signature to the weight.
Send all entries to the SPGA, 2913 Harrison Rd., Falls Church, VA 22042, by
October 16, 2000. The winner will be notified and the Southern Cup sent to
be displayed for that year by the new champion. So man the patches and
brace yourself (and your vines) for an exciting season when the Southern
growers will once again prove that "where the growing is tough, the tough
get growing!"
