Mackenzie 1010
Sorry... I tried to email privately but the server wasn't picking it
up...
Peter,
I'm growing the 1010 as well. I have heard from one person who grew the
1010 last year and he complained that his fruit were mottled green and
yellow and that each aborted before it hit 20lbs. I spoke to another
person who told me that there is certainly squash in the 1010's lineage
and some seeds have thrown green fruit but others have definitely
produced orange.
I'm a bit behind at the moment; my 1010 is only about 6' with a female
bud emerging at 5'. I'm hoping that it will blossom in a week or so
(I'm also hoping for some more females and some extensive vine growth
ASAP!). I'll let you know what colour they become.
My only other plant is the Emmons 790... my bets are on the 1010 so I
hope my plant doesn't throw any squash. However, if it does, I'm going
to grow this biggest damn squash ever seen.

p.s. if you get any info from other 1010 growers, could you please pass
it my way?
