Sevin
It has now been four days since I applied a dusting of Sevin (for the first
time in my life) to my patch. It used to be noisy out there at dawn, what
with the buzzing of all the insects. I used to be worried about being stung
by the bees that came around my hands when my fingers had picked up pumpkin
blossom scent while I pollinated.
Nowthe yard is as quiet as a tomb.
(And there are no more cucumber beetles.)
I think I am going to reread Rachel Carson.
